This poem describes my frustration with writer’s block before Valentine’s Day in 2006.

ERATO!

Erato! My muse

elusive, coy

veiled and disguised

concealed from

my blinded heart

and probing tongue

by ignorance

stifled by obscure

redundancy.

Return to me

before Cupid

unleashes his

arrows and pierces

my essence

damning me

to madness

forever.
