This poem is not one of the camp series.  I wrote it during a ‘potlach’ (a Czech weekend camp out with singing + other competitions and a 'sacred fire' on Saturday night) with about 30 + friends in Wisconsin in 2007. 

Sacred Fire

Canopy of brown veined green

Limiting access to the

Twinkling deep blue tarp

Sprinkling drops of holy water

On the group of friends gathered

Around the fire from which

Sounds of camaraderie

Reverberate throughout the forest
